Outdoor And Elegant Desert Paseo Wedding *

Outdoor And Elegant Desert Paseo Wedding *

Choosing the perfect venue for you and your partner can be challenging, but for Amanda and Matt, they knew it was love at first sight. To pay homage to Matt’s Arizona roots, they felt it only right to have their wedding with the Superstition Mountains as their backdrop. Their elegant Paseo wedding featured warm color tones, an outfit change, and a perfect desert sunset. By incorporating the desert’s natural colors, wedding planner Your Jubilee created an elegant, yet totally dreamy space for this couple to tie the knot.

Amanda looked completely gorgeous with her sheer, beaded dress with a tail of tulle coming from her shoulders. The look was complete, with her stylish mismatched bridesmaids. And to finish the evening, their reception included a photobooth VW bus, Amanda’s sequin reception dress, and a glamorous streamer send-off.

Focusing On Their Love

Since our wedding was during COVID, it was an important reminder that this moment was about us and our love for each other. We were there to get married and then celebrate that moment after the fact. Whoever showed up, showed up. But at the end of the day, it was the fact that we were officially husband and wife.

Reading Their Vows

When we got engaged, we were totally on board to just let the officiant run the show, but then Amanda read another bride’s thoughts on the subject. She brought up the point that this is the one time you’ll get to express how much your spouse means to you in front of the entire world. With that in mind, we knew we had to make it personal because our love for each other is personal. It’s unique to us and we wanted our commitment to each other to feel that way too—it was 100% worth it.

Hire A Wedding Planner

If you are planning a wedding out of state, it’s so worth hiring a planner. It kept us sane throughout the whole process. You can lose your mind with all the options that are out there. Don’t waste time getting lost with what’s out there. Your planner will know your style, look, and goals to help narrow down selections for whatever vendor you need help finding. Plus, they usually have options for every budget.

A Perfect Paseo Wedding

Amanda grew up in California right by the beach, and Matt grew up in Arizona surrounded by the desert and mountains. Both met in Texas, which was lacking all of those things. Matt proposed on the beach, so that was one piece of our marriage journey. To round it all out, we knew we had to go with mountains for the big day, and you cannot compete with the Superstition Mountain views at The Paseo. They’re so breathtaking!

Unique And Powerful Proper Hotel Wedding *

Unique And Powerful Proper Hotel Wedding *

Creating a unique wedding that feels like it’s all your own makes your special day feel absolutely perfect. Brittny and Lawrence’s Proper Hotel Wedding was unique to their relationships with each other and their community. Not only was this the first wedding ever done at this hotel, but this couple didn’t leave a unique detail out of it.

From a semi-circle seating arrangement to a Chuppah drenched in baby’s breath, Isabel Kate Events helped create a very 70s-inspired celebration. Plus, Van Morrison’s daughter sang at the wedding—truly amazing. And let’s talk about the couple’s wedding day looks. Brittny was absolutely glowing at 7 months pregnant in her sleek white bridal gown and Lawrence kept it classic in a grey suit. But we won’t spoil the whole thing! A Memorable Proper Hotel Wedding

Walking into the ceremony together was incredibly emotional and memorable. We set up the room in a semi-circle to represent the community. It was a powerful configuration to have everyone facing and surrounding us as we walked to the Chuppah together.

Unique and Personalized Ceremony

Our ceremony was very personal. We incorporated my husband’s Jewish background and my spiritual yoga practice. Our co-officiants were my yoga teacher friend, Wah, and Lawrence’s long-time friend, Andrew, who introduced us. They guided us through a ceremony where we included traditional rituals, blessings, and readings from our family, friends, and community. The ceremony allowed for everyone in attendance to participate, as well as acknowledgment of those who couldn’t be with us. The ceremony took place under a Chuppah made of baby’s breath, notes, and small items guests attached to the Chuppah.

A Surprise Serenade

The biggest surprise, and the most memorable moment, was when Lawrence—as a complete surprise to me—got up on stage with the band to sing Crimson and Clover. He had secretly prepared with a voice coach. It was amazing and everyone had so much fun with it! I was so beyond surprised and touched that he had the courage to do that.

Intimate And Colorful Soho South Cafe Wedding *

Intimate And Colorful Soho South Cafe Wedding *

With mismatched colorful chairs, bohemian rugs, and an autumn color palette, Amanda and Kyle’s Soho South Cafe wedding was colorful, trendy, and a Pinner’s dream. This venue was the only one they looked at, and it was love at first sight. Not only is the venue both stunning and unique with its high ceilings, large windows, and strung lights, but Ivory & Beau didn’t shy away from adding beautiful colors and textures to the space.

This colorful day also included bridesmaids in perfectly mismatched dresses, a beautiful embroidered bridal denim jacket, and terracotta pot seating charts. We’re definitely suckers for a good bohemian wedding, and this one is one for the books. Get ready to add some inspiration to your mood board with photos captured by Mackensey Alexander

The Wedding:

Soho South Cafe, Savannah, Georgia

Beautiful and Safe Celebration

I’m just so proud that it all came together as perfectly as it did despite everything going on in 2020. We were so stressed about having the wedding and we ended up having to decrease the guest list significantly. It was beautiful, safe, and perfect, and I wouldn’t change a thing!

A Soho South Cafe Wedding

Honestly, it was the only venue we looked at. I saw some photos on Instagram and knew I wanted to check it out. We went and it was perfect. It really fit the vibe we were going for.

Personalizing Their Ceremony

Our officiant was my best friend. We recently moved to Savannah and didn’t know anyone locally yet that we felt comfortable asking to officiate our ceremony. Asking my best friend ended up being the best decision because it was personalized and so special.

DIY Party Favors

We had DIY party favors for all the guests. I ordered a bunch of 2-inch succulents and cacti then planted them in small terracotta pots. My mom and I painted to match the wedding. It was so cute and I know a lot of my friends and family still have theirs at home.

LA couple ditches California for Italian elopement *

LA couple ditches California for Italian elopement *

After starting to look into a large wedding in California wine country that rapidly ballooned in guest count and price, Lianne and Dan actually did what a lot of couples consider when confronted with so much wedding planning stress: they eloped instead. Way before micro-weddings were our new normal, Lianne and Dan invited about thirty of their closest friends to join them at Villa del Balbianello on Lago di Como in Italy.

Lianne, always hoping for an elegant and romantic wedding where guests could drink really good wine, learned about Lake Como from a friend who mentioned it on a whim and was shocked that an international destination elopement would be so much cheaper than the lavish wedding just hours north of her Los Angeles home.

The most important parts of the day were good food, good wine and dancing with a classy, intimate and fun vibe, so she enlisted the help of Aurora Fallini, a local planner and the mastermind leading Lake Como Weddings and Events which specializes in foreigners eloping at Lake Como.

They faced a few extra hurdles that only come with a destination wedding — like having to have your dress be your only carry-on for an international flight and then misplacing it the day before in a foreign country — but still had the time of their lives. But Lianne and Dan were no strangers to travel in their relationship, dating long distance for two years before getting to move in together in Dan’s native LA.

Lianne, who grew up in Hawaii and has Japanese and Chinese heritage, and Dan who is Korean made traveling together one of their favorite activities, and were so excited to share that experience with their family and friends who came to Italy with them, visiting other parts of the country outside of Milano before and after the wedding with some of them before their honeymoon.

Lianne also had the peculiar experience of knowing for certain her husband would get along with his in-laws since Dan had worked with many of Lianne’s family members before the couple met, and even tried to set them up.

Some highlights of the day included getting ready in the Kennedy suite at the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio (named after the former President who always stayed in that room when he visited Italy), and getting a tour of Lake Como by boat (the easiest way to cross from Bellagio to Lenno).

The ceremony was officiated by one of Lianne’s best friends from college, and the party that lasted late into the night including choreographed and free form dancing, many toasts to the happy couple, and a cake smashed into the groom’s face.

Lianne shares:

In looking for wedding locations my friend mentioned lake como (I had never heard of it before) and once I saw a pic of the venue it was a done deal that I was going to get married there. Dan spent the morning of our wedding scootering around the lake drinking beer.
Omg Dan lost my dress the day before the wedding (we found it). I knew for a long time I wanted Justin McCallum to be my photographer but I wasn’t sure I would be able to convince him to go to Italy (which turned out to be easy)
