We see thousands of weddings here at Junebug, so it’s always special when we’re surprised and this one took our breath away! Adolfo and Guillermo tied the knot at Aerodromo Olocau, a flight school in Spain.
When planning, the two knew they wanted a wedding unlike any other, and with the help of planner La Puta Suegra, that’s exactly what they got. The day was complete with a pampas grass-lined aisle, smoke bombs, a post-ceremony flight, and professional dancers. Sounds like a good time, right?
To match the free spirit of the day, Adolfo rocked a tailored leopard vest while Guillermo opted for a simple green vest and cufflinks that featured photos of their furry friends. Although the looks were opposite, the couple looked devilishly handsome together.
Get ready for your heart to soar when you see these photos—photographer and Junebug member People Truelove Tellers did not disappoint. Keep scrolling to see these two take their love to new heights!
The Couple:
Adolfo and Guillermo
The Wedding:
Olocau Aerodrome, Valencia, Spain
Why Aerodromo Olocau
We dreamed of a unique space where no one had ever married before. This led us to marry in an airfield. We made it even more unique by surrounding the place with a million lights during dinner. We could not have chosen a more memorable and different place to marry.
An Unforgettable Moment Made For An Unforgettable Photo
Our favorite photo from the wedding happened during one of our favorite wedding moments–when we landed into where the dinner took place by plane. We had never done something like this before, and not only was the moment amazing and unforgettable, but the photo was too!
Personalized Wedding Favors
We gifted our guests with a custom model plane and a kitchen cloth with our embroidered initials. All of the women invited also received a pair of leopard print flats.
Congratulations again to Adolfo and Guillermo on their Aerodromo Olocau wedding! Big thank you to Junebug member People Truelove Tellers for capturing and sharing their day with us. To see more of their work, check out their profile in our directory of best wedding photographers in the world!

Once upon a time there was a beautiful wedding at a castle—no seriously, Selene and Yang’s ceremony in Barcelona was right out of a fairytale. This couple was not afraid to bring bold colors and whimsical details to their Castell de Sant Marcal Wedding.
Their wedding was a beautiful carousel of colors. With the help of Elaine & Lauren of Caelian Events, they created a Spanish destination wedding that will send hearts fluttering. Keep on scrolling and get ready to see how their talented photographers, and Junebug members, Dallas & Sabrina captured this happily ever after fantasy!
The Couple:
Selene and Yang
The Wedding:
Castell de Sant Marcal, Barcelona, Spain
Adventurous And Unafraid Of Bold Colors
We chose orange as our main wedding color. It’s definitely not a common color to choose for weddings, but we don’t like rules, we don’t like to play safe—we’re adventurous. We thought that orange would match the castle’s natural sandy beige color scheme and would really pop. Other colors we chose were pink, champagne, rose gold, beige, tan, and white to compliment the orange. The final outcome was surreal. These colors meshed perfectly together, the dirty orange and rose gold pink were a magical match. The result was elegant and chic, with the groom’s dashing orange suit tying it all together.
Planning A Dream Castell de Sant Marcal Wedding
The most important thing about planning our wedding was having the full support of each other from beginning to the end. We were running on a tight schedule and it’s never easy to plan a wedding, especially a destination wedding. We were both equally involved with the planning process and respected each others’ opinions. For a destination wedding, we cannot emphasize how important it is that you get a reliable local wedding planner that you can communicate well with. Our wedding was in Barcelona, we had only visited once at the beginning when we decided the venue and the execution was done entirely by our wedding planners Elaine, Lauren, and their awesome team at Caelia Events. They were from the UK but have hosted in Barcelona for years so they were able to communicate well with us, but also had strong relationships with local vendors. We couldn’t have had our dream wedding without their help!
The Bride’s Favorite Wedding Memory
The most memorable part of the day for me was our first dance because we had prepared a surprise dance performance for our guests. I was so nervous because we had spent a month practicing the dance and neither of us are dancers. However, the dance was perfect and the crowd went wild. I felt so relieved and amazing afterward. It was such a rewarding feeling that I will never forget. After being married, I always go back in time to relive this beautiful memory, it always brings joy to my heart.
The Groom’s Memorable Moment
The most memorable part of the day for me was when my beautiful bride descended down from the castle, like an angel from the skies. Her walk was magical, I held my breath the entire time. The angelic image of Selene in her beautiful white wedding dress with the castle backdrop was an image I’ll cherish forever.
Wedding Advice for Nearlyweds
Our advice is have a number of different wedding venues ideas and themes, start a mood board, and understand your priorities for your wedding. Write down the must-haves and listen to yourselves only. It is paramount to not get distracted by the outside noise. This is your special day and you get to design your dream wedding the way you want it.
Congratulations to Selene and Yang on a beautiful, picturesque wedding! Big shout out our Junebug members Dallas & Sabrina for capturing this ceremony and for sharing it with us. A colorful rose petal recessional, smoke bombs out of a VW bus, and traditional Spanish musicians, ay Dios Mio! Lore and Paúl’s stylish modern Galicia wedding at Pepe Vieira was the party of the century. The couple combined their cultures to create a day full of laughing and dancing. From the stunning backdrop featuring pampas grass and florals from Picris to a custom neon sign to a sleek reception with black and white decor, the day was the perfect combination of romantic and contemporary.
Lucky for us, Msanz Photography was there to capture every moment– a teary first look, the newlyweds passing out flowers to loved ones, and even the couple trying their hand out at playing some traditional Spanish music themselves.

Lore and Paúl
The Wedding:
Pepe Vieira, Poio, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain
A Musical & Memorable Ceremony
We are both from different regions of Spain with great cultural attachments, so we wanted to create the right mix of both. We invited traditional musicians from Galicia–who played the pipes–and from Basque Country–who played the txalaparta. The music created an unforgettable moment when we met at the ceremony altar.
Why A Stress-Free Pepe Vieira Wedding
We had a different venue reserved but four months before the wedding, we were informed that our wedding would not be possible. There was a lot of sweat and tears, but we found Pepe Vieira, which was even better than the previous venue. Our advice is do not get stressed even when things go wrong. It’s all about enjoying the process.
Congratulations again to Lore and Paúl on their stylish modern Galicia wedding at Pepe Vieira! Thank you to photographer Msanz Photo for sharing their special day. Does it get any better than a boho destination wedding? We don’t think so. We’re positively obsessed with Sarah and Ian’s sophisticated boho wedding at Retiro Sambana! The couple knew planning a destination wedding would be easier with the right team, so they hired oh-so-talented Open The Door Events to help them pull off the tailor-made day of their dreams. In fact, when asked about their day, Sarah said, “the evening flowed from one magical space to the next, and it was like unboxing gift after gift all night to see what Opi had come up with.” That’s wedding planning done right if you ask us.
The couple opted to embrace the Spanish culture and landscapes, so they kept the decor minimal. Instead, the focus was on incredible red, pink, and orange floral arrangements from Andaluflor. They also included a rich traditional Spanish menu from Canela y Clavo that served as an homage to the Andalusian region. Churros with chocolate for dessert? Sign us up!
If you’ve been dreaming of a bold boho destination wedding, we can’t wait for you to see the photos that Joy Zamora captured! Keep scrolling to see a photo shoot in the cotton fields, a whimsical outdoor ceremony, and a guest book made for doodling!

A Memorable Welcome Dinner
One of our most memorable moments was actually the night before. We hosted a welcome reception in the main town. It was outdoors at a quirky boutique hotel that was straight out of Pinterest. We had an incredible pre-wedding photoshoot with our photographer early in the day, so we were dressed in our traditional cultural outfits. I wore a Korean hanbok, and Ian wore a Filipino barong. We were wrapping up an intimate rehearsal dinner with our families when our friends started trickling in and greeting us for the first time in Spain. It was incredibly emotional because it was in that very moment that it hit us–our amazing friends and family had flown halfway across the world to Spain to be with us, to celebrate us, and to witness and share our wedding journey.
Why Retiro Sambana
Retiro Sambana feels like a home. It is warm, cozy, stunning, and not pretentious. It has so much character–a burnt rose facade, quirky nooks, a bougainvillea laced courtyard, colorful hallways, an Instagram-worthy pool, an adorable house pup (Candela!), and best of all, the most wonderful hosts, Fenton and Franny.
The Bride’s Most Memorable Part Of The Day
My most memorable part of the day happened between cocktail hour and dinner. There was a short moment when we were alone–just the two of us–in the courtyard of the Cortijo (my favorite part of the venue). Our guests were already ushered down to dinner, and we were waiting to be introduced as Mr. and Mrs. The sun was just starting to set, and we had a quiet, intimate moment together as we simply held hands, still shaking a little, and looked at each other. We didn’t say anything, but we felt everything. It was electric, and the love we have for each other was so palpable at that moment. It was the most romantic “holy shit” moment ever!
Including The Family Pets
Our signature drinks were named after our two dogs Winston and Ollie. We had wooden drink stirrers made with their faces on them–hand-drawn and metallic foil-pressed. I also commissioned one of Ian’s favorite artists to do a portrait of us with our dogs. I was planning on surprising him with it in Spain, but he found it at home before we left!
