The Perfect Las Vegas Micro Wedding
We chose the Neon Museum because it had a Vegas feel with the old neon signs and it was still very intimate. We wanted a space that was unique and outdoor. We didn’t want to feel stuffy inside of a little white chapel and didn’t want all the commotion of the Vegas strip. We had the Gallery all to ourselves and it ended up being the perfect location.
The Most Memorable Part Of The Day
The whole day was magical! Standing up in front of all of our loved ones was by far my favorite part. It was the start of our future together and I’ll forever hold those moments dear to my heart. It felt like we were the only ones in the room just looking into each other’s eyes. Walking up to him just gave me the biggest rush of happiness.
Wedding Planning Advice From The Newlyweds
Our best advice is to be true to who you are. We did a mix of traditional and non-traditional things for our wedding. We took some advice from others but we stuck true to what we wanted. Don’t get too caught up with staying on schedule or worrying about what you have to do next. Make sure to enjoy the day and soak up all the little moments with you and your spouse. The most important thing to remember is at the end of the day all that matters is you get to marry your person!

Our photographer Brittany was an absolute dream to work with. She really took the time to listen to our vision. She helped pick out all of our locations, planned for everything, and helped us stay on time. I never had to worry about getting to our next location. I thought I would feel awkward and not know how to pose, but Brittany made us feel so comfortable. It’s like we’ve known her for years. She helped direct us so we looked like pros out there. She’s honestly the best hype girl I’ve ever met. Brittany made us feel our absolute best.

Imagine spectacular views of a high desert landscape, an otherworldly lava cave ceremony, stunning floral arrangements in a mix of soft pastels with pops of bright tones, and a magical canopy of twinkling lights. Welcome to Marisa and Stephen’s whimsical and glamorous Pronghorn Resort wedding. It’s truly like something out of a dream.
The couple poured a lot of love into the wedding details. The bride, who is a graphic designer, created all of the wedding stationery and drew portraits of their two cats so they were included in the celebration. They also wanted to make sure that their guests felt taken care of by handing out thoughtful welcome bags filled with big day essentials.
They completed the enchanting vibe with their gorgeous attire—Marisa looked every bit like a fairytale bride in her celestial headpiece that perfectly matched her strapless gown with a full soft tulle skirt and sweep train, while Stephen was a dashing groom in his timeless suit.

The Perfect Venue For This Pronghorn Resort Wedding
We chose Pronghorn Resort because it provided a unique hybrid between several things we wanted in our wedding venue. First, it was absolutely gorgeous with very diverse and sprawling grounds that helped you feel immersed in the experience. Second, there were so many unique natural elements we felt were whimsical and fun like the ghost tree forest and lava cave. Who knew being a cave bride could be so glamorous? And lastly, the property has the wonderful Huntington Resort that comfortably held all our guests and provided them with a beautiful and relaxing place to stay.
They Poured A Lot Of Love Into Their Pronghorn Resort Wedding
At the end of the day, despite all the planning and worrying and logistics, the most palpable thing at our wedding was an all-encompassing sense of love. The wedding still felt like it was about our union and the celebration of our family and loved ones who’d supported us in our life. All the decor, flowers, and food seemed to just enhance that feeling and not distract from it. Everything was made and done with love.
The Most Memorable Part Of The Day
For both of us the most memorable part of the way was walking into our reception and seeing so many people we love so much in the same gorgeous space. After a year of pandemic living, the joy of being together was almost overwhelming. That love, coupled with the beautiful and enchanting space created by our vendor team, made the day feel like we’d stepped into a fairytale.
Wedding Planner Amanda Galbraith Was Their Fairy Godmother
If your budget allows for it, get yourself a coordinator! I can’t stress enough how much this is good advice, especially if you are getting married somewhere that isn’t local to where you live. Amanda was seriously our wedding fairy godmother. From clutch recommendations to juggling tasks and contacting our vendors—we fully believe the wedding was as successful as it was because we hired her. Also, as a designer, it was important to Marisa not only to find vendors whose work we loved but to also let them have enough creative freedom to get excited and create from their hearts. You can feel the difference when people are inspired and not just executing.
Thoughtful Welcome Bags
Instead of going with traditional favors, we opted to give our guests welcome bags which they received when they checked into the resort. We included an information packet about the weekend and events, cloth masks, hand sanitizer, mints, advil, water bottles, and lots of snacks for them to keep in their room. Pronghorn resort is about 20 minutes outside of Bend, so we wanted our guests to have some comforts readily available to them after their day of travel without having to leave the comfort of their rooms. It was also important to us that our guests knew we were taking their safety seriously due to the ongoing pandemic.
I have a lot of great passion for paper goods and snail mail. I designed, assembled, and addressed our wedding suite, curated a selection of vintage stamps, designed wax seals, and had our invitations custom foil printed in rose gold for a little added magic. Then, I hand foiled all our escort cards with the help of my mother and godmother on handmade paper and did all the calligraphy for the wedding. I also drew portraits of our two cats, Bandit and Pete, for our signature cocktails. The only part of our stationery that I didn’t design was our gorgeous table numbers from The Punctilious Mr. P’s Place Card Company. They were just so gorgeous and perfect, I couldn’t pass them up!
Baylee Dennis is a photography wizard. I don’t know how she did it because she somehow managed to take pictures of a hundred things happening at the same time while carefully capturing the magic of it all. She’s so warm and made us all feel so comfortable in her presence. She never displayed any stress or nerves and never pressured us to do anything we weren’t comfortable with. We were able to relax by simply setting her free to work her magic on the day. We’ll definitely use any excuse in life to have sessions with her in the future.
Change Of Plans That Worked Out In The End
We originally planned to have our ceremony on the Event Island in the middle of the golf course. Our wedding was originally supposed to be 185 guests, but because of Covid we had to cut our guest list down to 50. Pronghorn Resort kindly offered us the option of moving our ceremony location to their lava cave at no additional charge as a consolation for all the replanning from the pandemic and we jumped at the chance. Our wedding was smaller than we envisioned, but the fantastic new location coupled with the extra personal level of connecting with all our guests made us so grateful we had a smaller wedding. We wouldn’t change a thing.

The many couples who planned their weddings during the pandemic had to be flexible with their venue, their wedding date, and even their guest lists. Anna and Anthony were no strangers to these challenges—although you’d never guess their Orchard House wedding had any issues. By keeping their guest list low and hosting their wedding virtually, they created an intimate and timeless wedding.
With a sword arch sendoff, a handfasting ceremony, guest poem readings, and the moody weather, their wedding had so many fun and unique details. To end the very special evening, they shared a special first dance that was unlike any other. Thankfully, Junebug member Nikk Nguyen Photo captured the day so keep scrolling to see what we mean.

Their First Look
The first look was something our photographer suggested and I was surprised how nervous we both were about it. I surprised my husband in a different dress so seeing his face was perfect. It was a wonderful and private shared moment of happiness before the big event.
Having An Orchard House Wedding
The pandemic drove our wedding venue choice. We were quite limited in what was even available. But, we chose an Airbnb that was honestly our dream spot.
Personalizing Their Wedding
We wrote our own vows and chose poems to read during the ceremony—one of which my husband wrote! We also had a handfasting portion that was officiated by a dear friend.
It was a dream to work with Nikk Nguyen Photo! He got every shot we could have wanted and snapped touching keepsakes we’ll always treasure. He stayed back to let the day happen but was full of gentle and very helpful direction for our portraits.

Sharing Their Love For Hawaii And Each Other
We prioritized many things when planning our wedding. First, having lots of time together as a couple. Prioritizing our time together in the day-of itinerary allowed us to really take in what was happening! Secondly, showing off the beauty of Hawaii to all our loved ones. Zach and I have spent the past three winters on the island, so it’s an important place to us. We wanted to be able to show our guests why it holds such a special place in our hearts.
Working With Photographer Emma Quinn
Working with Emma Quinn was easy and effortless. We’ve worked with Emma many times. She’s always had such an eye for capturing moments, taking a step back, and painting the picture of the day. Emma is a true storyteller! She’s also just a really fun and sweet person to have around. My family and friends just loved her. We also spent a night in a tiny cabin in Yosemite for our engagement session, then spent sunrise to sunset together, and never got sick of each other. Love that chick.
A Venue With Ocean And Mountain Views
We’re so proud of how beautiful the venue was. I think all our guests were blown away when they arrived. The Olowalu Plantation House sits right on the water. From one side you have a view of the ocean and from the other side you have a view of the mountains. It had all of the Hawaii vibe we were going for.
Local Beers Only At The Reception
I loved that we served local beers and seltzers from Maui Brewing Company, Kona Brewing Company, and Ola Brewing Company. We had a beer pong table that was so fun during the reception. Honestly, we were proud of most elements of the day. We’re so happy with how it came together.
The Importance Of Hiring A Wedding Planner
Our advice to couples everywhere is to hire a wedding planner! We’re in the wedding industry ourselves and we almost tried to do it on our own. After a few months of planning, we realized that the biggest gift we could give ourselves was hiring someone. Bixby and Pine did everything—I mean everything. It allowed us to solely focus on each other and let us really take in the meaning of the day. Let me say it louder for the people in the back: a wedding planner is a gift to yourselves!
Incorporate Loved Ones In The Wedding
The most memorable part of the day was our ceremony. And trust me, I wasn’t expecting that. But when you really love the person you’re marrying, saying your vows to one another in front of all your favorite people is pretty special. We were laughing, we were crying—it was just perfect. Plus, our officiant is our brother-in-law and he did such a good job centering the message around who we are as a couple. And my mom recited a bible verse about love. Then, we had a unity ceremony honoring Hawaiian culture.

There’s nothing more glamorous than tying the knot in far away places—this glam micro wedding in Crete, Greece is no exception. Yuliya and Pavlo wanted a day that prioritized comfort, fashion, and jaw-dropping views. Which was easy with local event planner Make Happy Memories by their side.
This adventurous couple kicked off their celebration by exchanging romantic private beach “I do’s” at the Church of Ascension at Paleochora. This historic church added sentiment to their big day. It also made for an incredible photo backdrop when paired with pop-of-color florals by Manfler. That’s a double win.
The mid-day ceremony took our breath away but this celebration truly came to life during their mountain top Art Villareception. The dreamy twenty-six person villa was complete with an infinity pool overlooking the bay of Mirabello, draped twinkle lights, and large chandeliers over the neutral reception table.

The Struggle Of Planning A Destination Wedding
We had to organize our wedding from far away. We ended up hiring a local wedding planner to help us avoid stress. That’s our biggest tip for couples planning a destination wedding—hire a local wedding planner. It’s really important to work with someone who really understands your desires and knows the area.
Hiring Me and Georgia was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. They were super responsive, flexible, funny, and incredibly easy to work with. We knew that the photos would be the one thing we could cherish forever and we wanted them to be perfect. We cannot recommend them enough for every wedding day.
A Reception With A View
We chose Art Villa because of the unique and amazing landscape. With this venue we were able to rent a large modern villa for 26 people.

With winter only a couple of months away, we’re soaking up as much winter wedding inspiration as possible. Ali and Joseph’s beautiful backyard wedding may have been small in size, but it had everything they asked for. From fur shawls to a stunning blue color palette perfect for the season to a decadent s’mores station.
Despite planning a wedding during COVID and having no wedding planner, the two transformed their backyard into a romantic backdrop, perfect for a micro wedding. But they did have some help from their friends and family! The team came together and tackled some serious DIY projects–including the flowers, the wedding lighting, and even the bride’s hair and makeup.

Simple Vibes At This Beautifully Blue Backyard Winter Wedding
Our backyard wedding was an eclectic boho chic blend of COVID-friendliness, child-proofness, convenience, whimsy, and low-stress beauty. As it was the second wedding for both of us, our main focus was our seven children becoming family with us. We transplanted a flowerbed, installed fence panels we found on Facebook marketplace, hung a lot of lights, ordered flowers online, and incorporated a lot of personal touches.
DIYing The Decor And Flowers
The florist–Joseph’s sister–could not come due to COVID, so my Matron of Honor stepped in to arrange the flowers and blew me away. Also, it became my Herculean task to hang lights around the backyard leading up to the wedding. I had attempted to hang–and ended up bursting many strands–of lights. The morning of the wedding, I asked my neighbor if we could bum some electricity from his outlet, and then realized we would have to rehang all the lights the opposite direction. I had to get ready, so I asked Joseph if he could do it and–amidst everything else he was doing–he didn’t even hesitate. He and a groomsman created the perfect ambiance for our post-sunset celebration.
A Team Effort For The Bride’s Look
I love both a classy and earthy style. I ordered the dress online because I loved the look and shape, and I had a tailor add material under the lace because when it came in, it was see-through! I looked like a mermaid and it turned out perfect. I made the faux-fur wraps for the girls and myself because it was a winter outdoor wedding and we needed something warm. One of Joseph’s sisters is a hair stylist and took my naturally wavy hair to another level. And my Matron of Honor created my hair piece with hot glue and leftover flowers about 20-minutes before the ceremony began. I did my own makeup and had to send my sister-in-law to purchase some waterproof mascara for me since I figured I’d need it.
A Wide Selection Of Tasty Foods
Joseph is a taco enthusiast and his friend and business partner catered our reception with amazing tacos from his local restaurant. I own a business making locally-sourced bone broth, and we served it at the wedding, which was perfect for the cooler temperatures. Along with the wedding cake from Ludger’s, our groom’s cake was a cinnamon roll “cake” prepared by the owner of Missy’s Bakery–my family friend (who incidentally was also Joseph’s first boss)–and assembled by my mom. We also had a s’more station around a fire pit that was the kids’ favorite feature.
