Enchanting, Chilly, And Fashion-Forward Florence Evening Wedding *

When getting married in a crystal palace built in the late 1800s, it only makes sense to throw an over-the-top, Great Gatsby-inspired affair. That’s exactly what Elettra and Silvano did for their Florence evening wedding. The two said “I do” in a candle-lit ceremony, surrounded by wild florals arranged by Floricanto before partying the night away in a circus-esque reception.

The couple used John Derian’s illustrations as inspiration, filling the glass garden with vintage-inspired artwork, silver candelabras, feathers, and mirrored tables and dancefloors. Elettra matched the old-world theme beautifully in her beaded Zuhair Murad gown, complete with a feathered bridal cape. And we love that Angelo Nenna Pintor kept her hair pinned back in a sleek 1920s bun.

Junebug member and wedding planner The Tuscan Wedding did an incredible job taking the couple’s vision and turning it into a wedding unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. So keep scrolling to see the magical night perfectly captured by Elisabetta Riccio, and be prepared to take a trip back to the jazz age.

Gorgeous And Intimate Indian Wedding At Villa Artimino *

Gorgeous And Intimate Indian Wedding At Villa Artimino *

z

While scouring the globe to find their perfect wedding location, Dipal and Dirgesh landed in Tuscany at the Villa Artimino—a venue perfect to accommodate both of their dreams. With Italian wine vineyard views and a villa that feels straight out of a fairytale, this couple shared their vows with their closest family and friends. This two-day Indian wedding is vibrant, culture-rich, and filled with gorgeous elements you have to see.

With the help from their wedding planner Distinctive Italy Weddings, this gorgeous and intimate Indian ceremony brought two families together through celebration and rituals. Keep scrolling to see the bride’s beautiful maroon and gold dress, gorgeous henna from the Mehndi ceremony, and a live cake show—yes, you read that correctly. Now, let’s virtually transport to Tuscany with photos from Nicola Tonolini

The Couple:

Dipal and Dirgesh

The Wedding:

Villa Artimino, Tuscany, Italy

Why The Villa Artimino?

Dirgesh and I settled on Italy at first because it was the best of both worlds for us. Dirgesh always dreamed of a beach wedding. I always dreamed of a wedding in a beautiful villa or castle to complete my fairytale. In the end, we chose Tuscany because it was better suited to accommodate our guest count of 150. Though this is a small wedding based on Indian standards, it is large based on Italian standards, so many venues did not have the space to accommodate us. We love the views and beauty of Villa Artimino. It was the perfect fit since we are also wine lovers! We could not have been happier with our choice.

Planning An Intimate Wedding.

The most important thing to us in planning our wedding day was making sure we had our closest friends and family with us to celebrate our big day with us. We wanted a smaller and more intimate wedding compared to a typical Indian wedding and doing a destination wedding allowed us to keep our numbers smaller and spend our time with the people who matter most to us.

Wedding Advice From The Bride

Organization and communication are key. Whether you’re planning yourself or you have a planner, there is a timeline for planning a wedding and many vendors to communicate with. Keep all this information organized, communicate with your planner and vendors to vocalize your needs and wants, and make sure everyone is on the same page. It can be tough for couples when trying to balance the desires of two families who may have differing opinions. Do your best to respectfully consider their thoughts without letting it deter your vision. Don’t forget that you and your significant other are in this together. Lastly, make sure to enjoy your big day and don’t stress if things don’t go according to plan over the course of the day. Just go with the flow and don’t miss out on the magic!

Timeless Indian Wedding Fashion

I always imagined myself in maroon and gold for my wedding dress. I found my wedding dress in Seasons and it caught my eye. I fell in love with it when I tried it on, but wanted to make sure there was nothing that I liked more. After trying on dresses at another store, I knew that it was the one. I picked my jewelry to match the colors of the dress and had a nose ring made to match it, as I always envisioned wearing a traditional hoop for my wedding jewelry. I picked my bridal party sarees based on one of the softer toned flowers in my dress so it would be subtle and compliment my dress well. Dirgesh’s mother brought fabric from my dress to Manyavar, where they picked out options for him that would match my dress colors. The groomsmen outfits matched the color theme from my dress and complemented the bridesmaid sarees.

For a fantasy gown celebrating all the blossoms, there would only be one choice for the bridal gown designer—and Rara Avis did not disappoint. Inspired by the femininity and the uniqueness, the gown blossomed into a celebration of my romantic dreams adorned in tiny handmade Japanese clay flowers and beads. My hair was styled into one side waves to have a clear profile and back. The simple style was complete with a gold hairpiece. The fairytale accessories moved beautifully amongst the fallen blossoms of the surrounding displays, crowned by a headpiece of Hermione Harbutt – Sakura Garland. A dreamy cherry blossom garland with blush mother of pearl flowers, golden blooms, and leaf tendrils.

We had been to Italy twice together and loved the country’s culture, food, wine, scenery and romance. It was a pretty quick decision as it was a good midway point for our family and friends who came from all over Europe, Georgia and Russia, and one we thought people would be happy to travel to. We came across Hotel delle Cave online during our hours of searching and after using Instagram to see more pictures we booked it quite quickly. Our ceremony and reception location were held in a former quarry turned into a beautiful garden. We chose it because it was a unique embodiment of a childhood dream: a wedding under an evergreen tree.

Having an autumnal wedding is all about bringing a sense of coziness and richness to the big day. Fall wedding colors posed a particular challenge. Orange was an obvious choice. We went for a jewel tone wedding decor softened by pastel colors that play up the mysterious and sultry vibe of the season. From elegant mauve and dusty pink to bold fuchsia and burgundy, we thought that it was the perfect time to add a splash of color into the wedding style. Jewel tones automatically brought a sense of opulence to the decor, but also the look was elevated even more by including metallic golden details such as golden chairs and tableware for added luxury.

I was absolutely flattered by the way Marco and his team worked on the preparation and decoration of our sweet table and the cake. They worked on designing the Wedding Cake and the setting of the sweet table including other desserts for the purpose of creating something different from the typical wedding cakes. They created a “tailor-made experience”, from the creation and design of the cake silhouette to the choice of every single flavor with very personal and organic essences and extracts to create unique flavors and scents, creams and filling. The presentation and taste of the creations exceeded all our expectations. Our guests have continuously commented on how delicious it was. We are looking forward to working with Marco again!

Lavish Outdoor Tuscan Wedding at Villa Oliva *

Lavish Outdoor Tuscan Wedding at Villa Oliva *

If you’ve ever dreamed of a lavish, romantic affair for your special day, look no further than Stephanie and Daniel’s stunning Tuscan wedding at Villa Oliva! We’re absolutely smitten with every detail and photograph David Bastianoni so beautifully captured of this sweet couple. Read on to learn Elegante by Michelle J‘s vision behind Stephanie and Daniel’s magical day:

Stephanie and Dan married in the beautiful grounds of Villa Oliva in Lucca. The Jewish wedding ceremony was followed by drinks and then dinner and dancing all hosted outside in different areas of the villa’s gardens. The setting was romantic and joyful; the atmosphere electric. Whilst most guests travelled from the UK, they were joined by friends and family from all around the world. The couple chose a simple white and green colour palette—no more was needed in such a beautiful setting—but the florist took the brief and created the most exquisite floral chuppah (canopy) for the marriage ceremony and beautiful table centerpieces. We used the various sculptures and features around the venue’s gardens as focus points, the first one as a backdrop to the chuppah and then later on as a backdrop to the stage. And Florence-based production company provided a lighting scheme that showcased these features in a very dramatic way.

The Couple:

Stephanie & Daniel

The Wedding:

Villa Oliva, Lucca, Italy

Getting ready with your family and friends is an underrated but really special part of the day! One of my favourite memories is having a dance party to some pop classics in the morning; it put us all in the best mood. Make sure you have people around you who care about you, understand how important the day is to you and want you to look and feel your best. This includes both the wedding party and your make-up artists and hair stylists.

We worked closely with Michelle, our amazing wedding planner, as well as our families (mainly the mothers!) to create the style of the day. As a couple, we’re quite outdoorsy and spend a lot of time out for walks or hikes, so it was important for us to get married outside amongst nature. We also love Italy and I’d always dreamed of having an Italian villa-style wedding. We wanted the style to be simple and elegant and to let the beautiful venue speak for itself. The incredible florists, caterers and suppliers that Michelle recommended completely understood our vision and it came together beautifully.

The most memorable part of the day was the ceremony. We decided to do a public Bedeckin (an unveiling, which is a traditional part of a Jewish ceremony) so the first time we saw each other was halfway down the aisle. Our parents were both involved in this part of the ceremony – my father gave me a blessing, like he has done every Friday night – so it was very emotional.

We got married in Villa Oliva, near Lucca in Tuscany. We decided to get married in Italy because we have several happy memories there and we love the food, wine, art, landscapes and scenery. We also wanted to have the ceremony outside, so a Tuscan garden was our dream location. Luckily, most of our family and friends were able to travel to Italy to celebrate our special day with us, which we’re so grateful for.

We fell in love with our venue immediately, mostly because of the beautiful gardens surrounding the villa. We decided to reveal each area of the venue throughout the evening, so we got married at the front of the villa; had the drinks reception behind the villa; and dinner and dancing was held in a large garden slightly further away from the property. The front of the villa had a beautiful grotto, which was the perfect backdrop for the Chuppah (Jewish marriage ceremony).

Our photographer and videographer were David Bastianoni and Waterfall Visuals, respectively. They were both fantastic and worked perfectly together. We have so many pictures of us laughing and joking, which were a result of David’s hilarity. He put us at ease, orchestrated sweet little moments and caught all the emotional moments that happened naturally, too.

Earthy Adventurous Elopement in the Dolomites *

Earthy Adventurous Elopement in the Dolomites *

Will we ever get over adventure elopements? Probably not. Can you blame us? This earthy adventurous elopement in the Italian Dolomites has our wanderlust at an all-time high. Michelle and Adam took their love for the great outdoors to new heights by tying the knot on a snow-covered mountain top after hiking the challenging Alta Via 1 trail.

After hiking for over a week—with their wedding gear tucked into their backpacks—the couple rode the gondola to the very top of the peak. At the summit, they played a game of rock, paper, scissors, exchanged emotional vows, and pledged their love to one another forever. After a stunning shoot with talented photographer Wild Connections Photographer, the two celebrated with elderflower schnapps, a perfect way to soak up the feeling of being newlyweds.

Get those hiking boots ready because this elopement will inspire you to scale mountains for the sake of love.

Michelle and Adam

The Wedding:

Dolomites, Italy

Why An Elopement in the Dolomites

The mountains are our home and they guide our lifestyle. Once we decided that we were going to elope in the Alps, we were thrilled to have the Dolomites galvanize the aesthetic. We took the natural beauty of the region, our photographer’s knack for an earthy hue, and used that to guide the aesthetic of our outfits. The hat with a homemade flower crown really pulled the modern and nature look together.

Wedding Advice From the Couple

Our advice is a little unconventional. If you’re planning a wedding and realize that you’re most excited about the honeymoon, reconsider just going on your honeymoon and tying the knot while there! The moment we realized we should get married on the epic hike we were planning as our honeymoon, everything just fell into place.

A Memorable Wedding Climb

We rode a gondola to the top of a huge peak and although we’ve ridden them many times before, to ascend in our wedding clothes was a giddy and exciting experience. When we arrived at the top we walked out to a massive cliff where photos of us were taken from afar. There were views in every direction, and clouds rose from beneath us–it felt almost as if we were being hugged by the mountains. If the Dolomites were our wedding theme, this was the apex.

A Private Ceremony With A View

We hiked to the crest of the green hill with the spires rising up behind. Then, we played rock, paper, scissors to decide who got to say vows first. Even though it was just us there, the power of the moment was beautifully overwhelming. We proclaimed our handwritten vows, sobbed like babies, and exchanged our homemade rings. Now, we look back at this moment knowing that nothing else compares to it. A swig of elderflower schnapps made it official. It couldn’t have been more perfect if we planned every moment.
