Hosting A COVID Conscious Wedding
We are most proud of how we tried to make the day safe for our guests. It was a tough decision to reduce our guest count but we knew it was the right thing to do to keep our family and friends safe. The ceremony was outdoors, masks were encouraged, and the reception venue had wide-open garage doors to allow for airflow. The tables and decor were spread out enough that the space didn’t feel empty even with our lower guest count.

Little Details That Made For A Memorable Day
The entire ceremony was filled with memorable moments. The weather was sunny and perfect to sit outside. Our flower girls threw out Halloween candy instead of flower petals. Our officiant read our own personal storythat made it so much more meaningful. The backdrop to the ceremony was an incredible view of the beautiful Texas hills framed by golden arches. No detail was short of amazing.

The Couple’s Wedding Planning Tips
I’d suggest couples start by doing a little bit of planning each week rather than trying to tackle it all at once. We split the responsibilities so the bride wasn’t tasked with all the planning and vendor hunting. We also created a wedding email account so we could both be in the loop with vendor updates.

The Importance Of Personalized Ceremony Readings
Our officiant read our personal love story instead of reciting traditional readings. During a brief interview a few weeks before the wedding, she asked us questions about how we met and our relationship style. She then turned our answers into a perfect summary of our love story. We were blown away by how she captured us. We have a copy of that story that we plan to read each year on our anniversary.

A Venue Unlike Any other
We had a whirlwind weekend touring about a dozen different venues in the Texas Hill Country. Mae’s Ridgewas a newer venue that wasn’t just another rustic barn and the views were amazing. Of course, having open Saturday dates that worked with our schedules was a big part of the decision process too.

The whole process was easy and relaxed! Elisa Lopez Photography sent us a questionnaire beforehand asking about our bridal party and our list of must-have poses and photos. She was open to our suggestions and knew that finding the best natural light was key to these outdoor shots. She kept a close eye on sunset so we could get those amazing golden hour shots that we love so much.

Congratulations Laura and Karl on their stunning Mae’s Ridge wedding. And big thanks to photographer Elisa Lopez Photography for capturing special moments that’ll have couples everywhere searching for special ways to set their weddings apart.

Stunning New Orleans Micro Wedding

Micro weddings were a major trend in 2020 for more reasons than just the global pandemic. It’s intimate, budget-friendly, and allows for couples to get married wherever they want. And for Amber and Ramana, that meant choosing to have a New Orleans micro wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family. They gathered their wedding guests and ran around the streets of the French Quarter. Eventually ending the celebration with fresh beignets.
What made their micro wedding truly special was infusing their cultures in their ceremony and read their own personalized vows. Thankfully, Junebug member Emily Delamater Photography captured all the smiles and love from this ceremony. If you’re ready to see the streets of New Orleans’ French Square and champagne toasts, keep scrolling to see this New Orleans micro wedding.
The Couple:
Amber and Ramana
The Wedding:
ACE Hotel, New Orleans, Louisiana

\
Great Laughs And Memories
We read our own vows and I loved that we fused our two cultures: his Indian heritage through the garland exchange and my Irish heritage through a poem. During the ceremony, we also had some fun bloopers like forgetting that the garlands were still in the hotel’s refrigerator and we forgot to get them out. We had to take an intermission to have someone find them, which allowed for some great laughs and time to soak in all of the people who were sitting there with us. Things don’t have to be perfect on your wedding day. Some of my favorite memories from that day were just hilarious mishaps.

Best Friends And Beignets
Another favorite memory was feeding each other beignets when we ran around New Orleans with our photographers, after the brunch, and getting covered in sugar. That was amazing. Also, my best friend since childhood was our officiant and that was really special. I just loved what she added to our ceremony and it was so lovely having her there as we said our “I do’s.”

Wedding Advice From the Bride
Always hire a coordinator! I’m a wedding photographer and I really thought I could do it all on my own because I’ve witnessed so many weddings. But, it just takes so much stress off your shoulders to have that extra help. Even if it’s an intimate day, it’s so worth it. Also, your photographer is so much more than your photographer! I was so lucky to have my dear friend Emily Delamater and her husband Matt shoot our wedding. They were so helpful and delivered the most lovely heirlooms for us.

Why A New Orleans Micro Wedding
We loved the ambiance of the ACE Hotel New Orleans and Seaworthy Restaurant next door because of the old world feel we were going for. Seaworthy especially struck a chord with me. It was the perfect atmosphere for our tiny wedding. We fell in love the second we saw the images online and knew that was it.

Congratulations to Amber and Ramana on their New Orleans micro wedding. Huge thanks to Junebug member Emily Delamater PhoVtography for capturing and sharing this day with us. Check out more of her work in her profile on our website. Micro weddings aren’t going anywhere in 2021. Nastya and Rory’s Minimalist Moroccan Elopement
With the help of planners from Riad Al Loune, the magical, laidback elopement was complete with a ceremony in the heart of the desert, portraits by One Heart Experience in the marketplace, and a sunset camel ride to end the day.
Their Videographer’s Take On The Big Day
Junebug member A Cinema of Poetry accompanied them as their videographer for the day, and this is what he had to say regarding intimate “I do’s.”
This is the story of a mixed couple that met through friends, but they realized that they were meant to be together a year later. They traveled from Portugal and exchanged vows of love in a symbolic elopement ceremony in the Marrakech desert. Their official wedding will take place when the pandemic permits, but this simple, minimal, and symbolic elopement ceremony was all about them and their relationship.
The Couple:
Nastya and Rory
The Wedding:
Agafay Desert, Marrakech

Why A Minimalist Moroccan Elopement
I love everything related to styling and design. I create a lot of mood boards on Pinterest, and a lot of them have this Moroccan vibe and style. And, we always wanted to visit Marrakech, discover its culture, and explore the medina’s narrow streets as well as the famous vibrant marketplace. This is how the “where” of our elopement was decided. We wanted something quiet and more private, and a big event was not in our budgetat that time. So we thought “this is it. Our opportunity to travel, explore and get married in a place we both always wanted to travel to.”

Making The Ceremony Personal
The ceremony was very laid back, minimal, and casual to represent our personalities. The wedding vows were honest and romantic. We had a tour with a dromedary camel in the desert before sunset and traditional Moroccan music.

What It Was Like Working With Junebug Member Cinema of Poetry
Kostas was lovely, and he made us feel really comfortable. He had already been in Marrakech, so we were able to explore the streets with him the day after the elopement. He told us a lot about their culture and actually saved us from a few scary situations. Since we spent more than just one day together we had the time to get to know each other better, too. He focused more on our story through short interviews that helped to reveal the essence of our relationship. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking not just for a videographer but also a friend for their special day!

Congratulations again to Nastya and Rory on their minimalist Moroccan elopement! We’re so thankful that One Heart Experience was there to capture it, and Junebug member A Cinema of Poetry was there to film the beauty of the day too. This unique, urban elopement is sure to take a piece of your heart. This couple wanted a day that authentically celebrated their love in the place where it all started. To say we’re obsessed is an understatement.
Starting with a stroll through Milan—the city where Loretta and Max’s love blossomed—and ending with pizza from a “just married” box. From the fashion to the location, everything about this elopement was full of personality. The pop-of-color floral arrangements by Flower Art beautifully complimented the Milan skyline and brightened the epic, neutral wedding day fashion. The bride and groom added a cool, relaxed vibe with leather jackets and a champagne toast to kick off their marriage.
Keep scrolling to join Loretta, Max, and their photographer Paola Lattarini on a stroll through Milan. Each image enhances the unique elopement details that every unconventional couple can draw inspiration from.
Photographer Paola Lattarini On Capturing This Urban Milan Elopement
This elopement isn’t your classic urban elopement—it’s much more. This couple decided to promise their love by paying homage to the city where they met, Milan. We spent the afternoon walking around the city and honoring all the places important for their love story, from the Alcatraz nightclub to the Deus ex Machina. This was the best way for them to celebrate—just two of them, in the place they hold closest to their heart.
The Couple:
Loretta and Max
The Wedding:
Milano, Italy

Paola Lattarini was the best choice for us. We were looking for someone who would make us feel completely at ease and who could capture moments in a natural way. With her, we not only had a lot of fun but we also managed to feel isolated in our bubble. This environment made for intimate moments and incredible photos.

No Wedding Complete Without Pizza
The most memorable part of the day was definitely eating pizza and drinking beer in bed. We wanted a moment completely ourselves, and nothing better than a relaxing meal together.

Congrats to Loretta and Max on their unique, urban Milan elopement. And big thanks to photographer Paola Lattarinifor capturing images showing that there’s nothing better than a unique wedding.
